8 Green

Here is the front of 8 Green before work started today. You can see some of the drain lines that have already been installed close to the green.  This work should help firm up the front of this green and greatly help playability of this hole.

A quick update on the amount of rain that we have had this month.  In the last 17 days we have had 9.3 inches of rain.  With so much rain the golf course is about as wet as I have ever seen it.  Hopefully we can get a few dry days in a row in order to finish up our drainage products.

Here are a few pictures of some of the new drainage areas. Most of these are just before and after shots. I have a few of the actual work being done.

Here is the front right of 12 green before work was started.

Here is the front right of 12 green during excavation.  The process involves striping the sod, digging the trench, laying a thin bed of gravel in the bottom of the trench, placing the drain pipe in, covering the pipe with more gravel, putting a 2 inch thick sand cap over the gravel and then placing the sod back over the sand.  in this picture you can see multiple steps in the process.
Here is the finished product on the front right of 12 green.
Here is the front of 18 green before work was started.
