A Great Crew

I want to take a minute to thank, pat on the back, and brag on my crew a little bit. It has been a pretty rough summer with crew members coming and going and in the last 2 weeks alone we have lost 3 crew members. However, our current staff is picking up the slack and going strong. We have had to work a few long days this week to get everything done but as I sit here on Friday at lunch I feel very good about the golf course. Yes, there is always something else that we could have done or something that we could have missed but I think the course is looking as good as it has all year.

On, Friday mornings we like to mow out all of the short grass (Greens, Tees, Fairways, and Perimeters) and rake bunkers, change pins, ect. When making out the schedule yesterday we realized that no matter how we cut corners or shaved people from one job or another we were still going to be a few people short on getting everything done. We decided to try something a little different today. We had the 4 walking greens mowers and the 4 walking tee mowers hand rake bunkers on the holes that they mowed. Hand raking bunkers at Great Waters is no small feat because we have 45 bunkers totaling almost 2 acres of sand. The crew took this challenge head on and with a little help from myself, Tom and Travis we were able to hand rake all bunkers and do all of our other jobs in front of play this morning.

Thank you to: Tom, Travis, Flotta, Eric, George R, Johnny, George W, Doug, Billie, Mike, VJ, James, Quincy, Stick, Fredrick, Trey, Quez, and Patrick.

Below are a few action shots from this morning.
